That night, Robin goes to bed and falls asleep, only to "awaken" in a dream
where he feels Sophia come to him. They mysteriously walk through the walls
like spirits and out onto the moonlit path.
"You're making progress," Sophia tells him. "Your desire and faith have brought
you this far. Your daily affirmations that you can achieve your dream
have encouraged you in spite of all the bad that has happened."
She explains the significance of their recent acquisition. "Specialized knowledge
is the fourth step to success. By copying the manuscript, you will move closer
to your goal. Even though the Yellow Mentor's approach is not helpful,
you've at least found a way to access the information you need."
Robin feels a sense of hope growing. The manuscript represents more than just
pages - it's a key to understanding, a bridge to the Land of Time Freedom.
"Remember," Sophia says, her voice both warning and encouraging,
"knowledge is only valuable when applied with intention and care."
The moonlit path stretches before them, a metaphor for the journey
ahead - challenging, but not impossible. Robin then falls asleep
while walking down beautiful moonlit paths...
They spent three days in that cabin, reading and re-reading the manual,
trying to extract meaning from its dense pages. But without context,
without examples, without someone to actually GUIDE them,
the manual was just words on paper.
During their stay, Robin carefully prepares for note-taking. Marcus produces
a small, leather-bound journal from his pack, along with a carefully preserved
quill and a small inkpot.
"Careful with that," Marcus warns as Robin dips the quill. "Ink is precious here."
Robin nods, understanding. By candlelight, he begins to transcribe the
most important passages from the manual. His movements are deliberate - each
stroke of the quill requires concentration. The ink flows carefully,
creating neat, precise script on the rough parchment.
Henry watches, fascinated. "You're writing as if these words are gold."
"They might be," Robin replies. "Information is currency in these islands."
Sophia whispers in his mind, guiding his attention to the most critical passages.
Some words require careful blotting to prevent smudging.
The candlelight flickers, casting shadows on the pages as
Robin meticulously captures each important detail.
The quill scratches softly against the page - the only sound in the quiet room.
Finally, Robin completes his meticulous note-taking. But overall, they are frustrated,
feeling no closer to their goal than when they arrived.
As they prepare to leave, the Yellow Mentor calls out to them. "Wait," he says,
his tone changing from cheerful to secretive. "Since you seem interested
in finding guidance, perhaps I can point you toward another..."
Robin, Henry, and Marcus exchange cautious glances.
"The Red Mentor," the Yellow Mentor continues, "is not far from here. In fact,
he's on this same island, on the western side where the sun sets. You can
reach him with just a short walk through the forest. No need to cross any bridges."
His finger traces an imaginary path on a dusty map hanging nearby.
"Just follow the path through the trees. You'll know you're close when the forest
opens up to a clearing bathed in sunset light."
Marcus leans in, skeptical but intrigued. "And this mentor... he's different?"
The Yellow Mentor's laugh is short. "Let's just say he understands the
value of information differently."
"Would the Red Mentor be more... flexible?"
The Yellow Mentor's smile becomes calculating. "Different, yes..." he pauses.
"Flexible...yes, perhaps more... practical in his approach." His eyes drift
to a stack of carefully bound manuscripts in the corner of the study.
Clearly, book copying is a significant part of his income.
"In fact, I have something that might be of great value to travelers like yourselves."
He continues.
He pulls out a meticulously bound book, its pages crisp and carefully transcribed.
"My Complete Works - a comprehensive guide to business success. Normally, such a
manuscript would cost a fortune. But for you..." He pauses dramatically. "Six silver coins."
Marcus leans in, intrigued. "What makes it so valuable?"
"Detailed guides covering four critical strategies: Identifying your target audience's core needs, mastering organic traffic generation, creating high-converting sales funnels, and building trust-based affiliate relationships that generate sustainable income..." he pauses...
"...Information," he continues, "that will help you break through the barriers holding
you back and finally take you to the Land of Time Freedom. Everything the Red Mentor
would teach you - but without the expensive personal instruction," he explains.
Robin notices the intricate details of the manuscript - pages filled with notes,
margins annotated with careful observations. Sophia whispers in his mind,
but this time her voice sounds more encouraging than warning.
"Six silver coins is less than a tenth of what most travelers would pay," the mentor
continues. "And far cheaper than risking your journey without proper guidance."
Marcus looks at Robin and Henry. "This could be our chance to have the
information we need. Add a mentor with this and we might just break through..."
Robin considers carefully. The manuscript represents more than just
pages - it's a potential key to understanding.
After a brief discussion, they pool their resources. Six silver coins exchange hands.
As Robin carefully tucks the manuscript into his pack, he feels a sense of
accomplishment. Many sections are ones he didn't have time to copy himself
during their earlier research. The very act of acquiring the book feels like they did
something right.
"Remember," the mentor adds as they turn to leave, "knowledge comes with a price.
And sometimes, that price is far less than you might expect."
They didn't know what to think of that, but thanked him for his hospitality
and time, and then left.
At long last, they climb down the ladder from the treehouse.
"Well," Henry says once they are back on the ground, "that was useless."
Robin steps off the last step, a spark of hope burning brightly. "We've just acquired
the most comprehensive guide to success," he says, patting the newly purchased
manuscript. "This book contains exactly the information we need to move forward."
Marcus nods, agreement evident in his eyes. "Having access to these insights could be the breakthrough we've been searching for."
Henry looks thoughtful. "Let's hope the Red Mentor can help us understand it!"
"True enough," Robin agrees, his voice carrying a mix of hope and caution.
Henry nods in consent.
