OLD VERSION
The journey back to Sanctuary Island was different this time. The escaped prisoners knew the secret paths now. They knew how to avoid the patrols. They knew when to move and when to hide.
But more importantly, they moved with confidence. And Robin noticed something extraordinary: the dragon flew overhead twice during their journey, but both times, it seemed not to see them. As if their newfound certainty made them invisible to its doubt-seeking eyes.
When they finally reached the Skilled Elf's cottage, she was waiting for them on the porch,
as if she'd known they were coming.
"You escaped," she said, but there's no surprise in her voice. Just pride.
"You knew we would?" Robin asked.
"I hoped. The Dark Lord catches many travelers, but those with a genuine understanding
of the sixth skill—true mindset mastery—can break his hold. You've learned something
most never do: that reality responds to belief. Not wishful thinking—belief backed by
action and skill."
She gestured for them to enter. Inside, she served them tea—real tea this time, without poison.
"You've been through the ultimate test,"
she said.
"You've
faced the Dark Lord himself,
been imprisoned in doubt and despair, and escaped through nothing but shifting your mindset. Now you're truly ready for advanced training."
"We need to get to the Blue Mentor," Robin said. "We earned the money before we were
captured. We need to pay him and learn from him."
"The money is waiting for you—Lyra has been holding it safe. The Blue Mentor knows what happened. He's been watching through the crystal network. He'll be very pleased
to see you."
She handed Robin, Henry, and some of the others small pouches. Inside were the coins representing their earnings—the money they'd made through honest skill and effort before being captured.
"This isn't enough," David said quietly, looking at his own empty hands.
"We didn't earn anything before being captured. We went straight from trying to the dungeon."
"Then stay here," the Skilled Elf said kindly. "Learn the six skills. Earn your first money.
Prove to yourself that you can do this. Then join Robin and the others at the Blue
Mentor's when you're ready."
She looked at each of the escaped prisoners. "You've all learned the most important
lesson—that your mind is more powerful than any prison. But you still need practical skills
to succeed. Don't skip that step. Learn properly. Build correctly. The Land of Time
Freedom will wait in its own good time."
David, Elena, and the others nodded. They will stay and learn.
But Robin, Henry and Sarah, were ready. They had the skills, the earnings, and now the
unshakeable mindset. It was time for the next level.
"One more thing," the Skilled Elf said as she prepared their rooms. "The Dark Lord will try
for you again. He doesn't forget. But now you know the antidote. Whenever doubt
creeps in, whenever you feel like a failure, remember the vision.
Remember who you truly are. See yourself as successful, feel that success in your
body, and the Dark Lord's power cannot touch you."
